“The MSRP on the tritoon is $57,837 and I bought it for $43,995. This was a $2,000 drop after doing some negotiating, using your method. He is throwing in a tube, rope and a few others items, too. I think I should have started seriously looking at boats in November but hoped to go to the Indianapolis boat show in February. It was cancelled due to the pandemic so I got more intense about finding a boat in January. The dealer said the 2021's are coming in now and are in the $60's for the equivalent boat. Since my boat is new I get the full manufacturer's warranty. I hope it does not depreciate as quickly as new, current year boats do. With the pandemic creating a lot of demand and a seller's market I think I did well for what I got. I just don't think this is the right market to try to get bottom dollar prices and this was confirmed by others that I spoke with. I also want to have a good relationship with the marina for the future and don't see this purchase as purely transactional. The attached picture is from the dealer's website, but the boat was in the showroom and out of the weather when I looked at it. Thanks for all your You-Tube videos and your guidance.
